Apple Crisp with a twist
5-6 large apples, preferably a baking apple like Rome/Macintosh/Granny Smith 1/2 c. cranberries 1/4 c. pecans or walnuts 1/3 c. sugar 1 T. cinnamon Crumb Topping: 1/2 c. quick oats 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. butter 1 t. cinnamon 1 c. brown sugar
Cover with foil, shiny side down. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes then remove foil and bake for 15 minutes more or until apples are soft. Turn oven off and leave in the oven to cool down for an hour or so.
This apple crisp is delicious. I cut down on the butter/sugar and it was just as good. I had this pie at high tea time (with the guys) during the Christmas holiday. It was a fun time :)
