Christmas Cookies ( or any cut out shape! )

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter (2 sticks softened)
1 egg
3 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Cream first 4 ingredients, add food coloring at this time if you want a different color cookie.
Add dry ingredients.

Egg wash to add sprinkles etc.
1 egg white
1 tablespoon sugar
Then add sprinkles, colored sugar etc

If your going to ice the cookies, then you don't need the egg wash.

ICING
(This is what I used on the cookies below.  It was enough for 1 batch of the above cookie recipe. I bought the Wilton eatable eyes at Walmart.  One package was enough for one batch of cookies.)

1 extra large eggwhite
1 1/2 cups plus 1/2 of a 1/4 cup of powered sugar (Odd amount but that's how I measured it. :)
Mix on medium speed for a few minutes and add 1/4 teaspoon water at a time till you get the consistency you want. I divided the icing in half to make the different color icing.

Roll out with powered sugar instead of flour
ungreased pan

Bake 375 10 to 12 minutes

2 batches = 75 cookies
