Fried buns! :)



This is the only time that using crisco is OK.  :)  My grandmother always made these and so did my mom.  

All you do is take any kind of bread dough that your making to form buns.  Let them raise and then fry them.
Use a non stick skillet and add maybe a heaping tablespoon of crisco for 6 buns.  Add about 1/4 cup or less of water, then add the dough.  Put a lid on it and don't peek.  If you take off the lid too soon the dough will flatten.  What you have to do is listen.  :)  It will sizzle.  When it's done sizzling and is quiet, you then take the lid off and flip them.  Shut off the heat (electric) and let them sit for a few minutes for the other side to brown.  And voila.  Fried buns.  :)  Set on paper towel and rack to cool.
